Gabions(ATGabions)

Gabions (ATGABIONS)

ATGABIONS are boxes made of double twisted hexagonal woven steel wire mesh. They are heavily galvanized and coated with PVC to ensure durability in harsh environments. These boxes are delivered flat packed and assembled using selvedge and lacing wires. Once placed at the site, the ATGABIONS are filled with stones, creating flexible, permeable, and solid structures that are used for retaining earth and controlling erosion. If the stability of the structure relies on its own weight, it is called a gabion gravity wall (GGW). However, when combined with a geosynthetic reinforcing element, it forms a gabion reinforced soil wall (GRSW). Ant specializes in the design and manufacture of Geogrid Reinforced Gabion Gravity Walls in India.

Features of ATGABIONS

  • It is made of double twisted hexagonal woven steel wire mesh that is galvanized and coated with a polymer.
  • The permeability of the mesh helps prevent the build-up of excess hydrostatic pressures behind the retaining wall.
  • It is a highly durable and flexible system.
  • It can effectively control differential settlement.
  • It enhances the aesthetic appearance of the fascia when filled with stones.

Applications of ATGABIONS

  • Erosion control in rivers
  • Earth retention
  • Landscaping
  • Channel lining
  • Scour protection of bridges
  • Access roads and working platforms
